In addition to our Sunday school, Worship Services, and Discipleship Training
the following our some of the ongoing programs and ministries we are involved in as a church:
Care Unit ministry:
Men from the church lead in a service for the patients
at the Care Unit in Falmouth every Sunday Morning. This is a center that helps patients overcome drug and alcohol addictions.
Children’s Worship:
The church provides a time in the service for the children to have a devotion and several members
are involved in providing a children’s worship time for the preschoolers through grade 5. They have
activities and bible stories that help them grow and have a worship experience on their level.
Meals
for Seniors:
The Baptist Young Women provide and
deliver meals to some of our Senior members every Monday and Wednesday
Nursing Home Services:
We have worship services for the River Valley
Nursing home bi-monthly.
Bedford House :
The RA”s and GA”s deliver birthday greetings to the Senior Citizens
at the Bedford. House monthly
GA’s/Acteens;
The
girls of the church ages 6-19 participate in weekly activities to develop an understanding of mission work performed by Southern Baptists in our
state, country and worldwide. They also promote the “Christmas in August” mission project They participate in
mission projects throughout the year and work on their badges and steps weekly.
RA.s:
The boys of the church ages 6-18 participate in weekly Royal Ambassador meetings.
These help to boys to gain an understanding of the work done by missionaries throughout our country and worldwide. They deliver
tracts to the local Laundromats, do yard work, etc. for seniors and participate in other mission activities thought-out the
year.
Brotherhood:
The men of the church meet
monthly to discuss mission opportunities and plan mission projects during the year. They have planned and taken mission trips
to Cedarmore, Oneida Baptist Institute, El Salvador, and Mountain Missions. They a have a men’s breakfast
on the 1st Saturday of each month. And have Baptist Men’s Day every January.
BYW:
The Baptist Young Women’s group meets monthly in addition to their
meeting on family mission night. They plan mission activities throughout the year. They also encourage one another through
“Secret Pals” where they pray for and remember their secret pal on special days throughout the year with gifts
and prayers. They prepare and deliver meals for women and their families who are in the hospital or sick
at home. They have a prayer chain that uses both the telephone and email to get prayer needs out as soon as possible.
They have a mother’s /daughter banquet every mother’s day, They work with the WMU planning mission studies
and help promote mission offerings.
WMU:
The Women
participate in the WMU to promote mission work locally and worldwide. They plan a service every February for WMU Emphasis week. They plan, with help from the BYW,
the North American Mission Study and the International Mission Study each year to help promote the Annie Armstrong and Lottie
Moon Offerings.
Deacon
family Ministry:
Each deacon has about 10 families that they pray for
on an ongoing basis and minister to whenever possible. They visit in the hospitals and help
keep the Pastor aware of the needs of their families. They work with the pastor to help him minister to all the families in
the church
Outreach:
The outreach committee plans
events throughout the year in the community
Youth: The youth meet every Sunday evening 5:30 for fellowship
and Discipleship
Training. They plan activities throughout the year and take a Mission trip every Summer to Myrtle Beach. On the mission trips
they have fed the homeless, worked in a soup kitchen, visited Senior citizen homes, homes for abused children, visited Adult
Day Care, worked for Habitat for Humanity, passed out tracts, performed street ministry and done Beach ministry.
Homebound Sunday School
Members go to the homes of those who can not attend and he Sunday School lessons with
them in thier home
